Why we support HaTzibur HaHaredi זך

הציבור החרדי בראשות מוטי ליטנר

זך

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Israel elects its 26th Knesset. HaTzibur HaHaredi (“the Haredi Public”), led by Moti Leitner, runs on ballot slip זך. It is a new Haredi list that says what many in our community already live: full devotion to Torah, together with responsibility for the security and livelihood of the Jewish people.

Our Pledge takes no position on the draft. Our support for this list is a separate judgment, explained below, about who best represents Torah Jews who also stand with those defending Jewish life.

What the party stands for

  • Torah learners are protected. Those who genuinely learn full-time keep their status. Young men who are not learning would serve in frameworks adapted to a Haredi way of life, such as a dedicated Haredi division.
  • Responsibility for security. The party is right-of-center on security and has said it would sit in a Netanyahu-led government.
  • Parnassah with dignity. Vocational training and employment for Haredim who work. Its campaign line is עוני אינו ערך יהודי, “poverty is not a Jewish value.”
  • Education that opens doors. Core studies such as mathematics and English, and expansion of state-Haredi education, without compromising Torah.
  • Achdus. One list for Ashkenazim, Sephardim and Chassidim, and the first Haredi list to include women candidates.
  • Taking responsibility. The campaign launched in Beit Shemesh on August 23 under the slogan הפעם לוקחים אחריות, “This time, we take responsibility.”

The candidates

The list approved by the Central Elections Committee on September 27 is headed by:

  1. Moti Leitner — Deputy mayor of Beit Shemesh; head of the Derech faction
  2. Asher Fradi
  3. Dr. Nechumi Yaffe
  4. Ziva Glantz
  5. Mordechai Rubinstein
  6. Rabbi Yitzchak Adlerstein
  7. Aharon Ungar
  8. Yehuda Oppenheimer
  9. Chaim Yehuda Leib Gottlieb
  10. Yona Shlomo Kaufman
  11. Eliyahu Goldberg
  12. Reuven Ohana

Rabbinic guidance

A rabbinic committee for the list published a letter on October 10, 2026, chaired by Rabbi Yehoshua Pfeffer. See Rabbonim and the election for every endorsement, with sources.

Every vote matters

A list must win 3.25% of valid votes to enter the Knesset. Recent public polls put HaTzibur HaHaredi at about 1–1.2%, below that threshold, while one survey of voters aged 18–22 (October 9) equated to five seats. The outcome depends on turnout. If you are an Israeli citizen voting tomorrow, you can make the difference.
